VOICE OVER

ACTOR

I've been working with The Factory Theatre for a few years now. Run by Tim Carroll and Alex Hassell, it is a company that aimes to bring classical texts (Shakespeare, Checkhov, Homer) to the stage with great emphasis on aliveness and involvement. Last year I played Timon of Athens in the eponymous play, directed by Louis Scheeder. Before that I was part of their acclaimed production The Odyssey, directed by Tim Carroll.

I also played Papageno in Mozart's opera The Magic Flute, in an international tour with Iván Fischer and his Budapest Festival Orchestra. For Pinewood Studios in London I recorded several audiobooks.

TRAINER

As a trainer I worked for a great variety of companies and organisations, both in The Netherlands (such as the Police Academy, Hotel Management School Maastricht,  ABN AMRO, Graduate Schools among wich Zuyd and INHolland, RINO (the Dutch national organisation for training in the mental healthcare field), BMW Motorrad and the fire brigade) and internationally (such as Peugeot and Citroën).

I'm an expert in optimizing the learning process within the context of group work.

Helping people discover their creative skills and teaching an effective attitude to learning are key points in my work. Oh, and there's always a lot of laughter as well.

CORPORATE ACTOR

Participants regularly tell me that working with me in role playing situations is a breath of fresh air and far more instructive and entertaining than expected.

I have more than 20 years of experience in assessments and training communication skills going from factory workfloor to CEO level. I acted in training sessions for police officers and firefighters, mental health care professionals and doctors, sales reps and crisis-communication managers, and did role plays varying from selling motorcycles to councelling suicidal patients, from co-worker aid to pursuit-and-observation skills, and from breaking bad news to closing a million dollar deal.

As unforgettable and moving as any theatre I've seen.

about The Odyssey

Heart-in-the-mouth theatre, unbearably poignant, unrepeatable.

THE EVENING STANDARD

about The Odyssey

English dialogue taken by six excellent young British-based actors - Admirably, there was no miking for the keen projection of the actors - dominated by Bart van der Schaaf's genuinely funny, natural Papageno-in-speech.
